Rubber Sex edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel

Rubber Sex is another sensational anthology from sharply focused editorial skills of Rachel Kramer Bussel. As is to be expected, the focus here is on the erotic connotations of all things rubber, latex and PVC. The stories are written to the usual high standard and the variation on what makes rubber erotic (or “rubberotic” as I’ve decided to christen the phenomenon) is pleasantly astounding.

Jeremy Edwards, who always knows how to balance narrative with eroticism to provide the perfect blend of entertainment, introduces the “Tire Stud.” This is a rude and rubbery tale that will appeal to those who get dizzy from the olfactory high of a raw rubberotic bouquet.

Alison Tyler, with “Rubbernecking,” shows off her talents as a writer by teasing the reader with a rubberotic display of discovery and exhibitionism. “Rubbernecking” is one of those cheeky stories that keeps the reader smiling until the last sentence.

In “Cinema Show,” Elizabeth Coldwell entertains with the story of a young woman who knows how to get the most satisfaction from a foreign film being shown at an art-house. The rubberotic appeal of this story is Coldwell’s deliciously sensual description of a pair of tight rubber panties.

There are countless rubberotic gems in this anthology from a host of authors who know how to press all the right buttons. Kristina Wright’s, “The Dress,” is a wickedly exciting tale that epitomises the appeal of rubber sex. Kristina’s heroine doesn’t just wear a latex dress—it possesses her. Kristina is a phenomenal writer and “The Dress” shows that she has the enviable ability to tell a story and simultaneously excite her readers.

Equally talented at blending narrative with naughtiness is Shanna Germain. In a “Single Bound” is Shanna’s story of playing dress up with latex strips and it would take a heroic effort from any reader not to be impressed by this deliciously deviant story.

Whether you like rubber, PVC or latex—or even if you can’t tell the difference—Rubber Sex has something to tease a taste of excitement from every reader. In short, Rubber Sex is rubberotic at its best.
