My wife's friend actually showed me hers. She has been divorced a couple of years and her vibrator has become her "best" friend. I couldn't believe how big it was. Its about 9 or 10 inches long and very thick and looks and feels like a real dick.

Can you be too tight for the pearls to move? I had one where the inside was supposed to move in a circular motion, moving the beads around inside the shaft. At least that's what it did when I held it in my hand. However, after insertion, it just sort of went mmm..mmm.mmm, and didn't move a bit. What a disappointment!

I did see something on HBO's "Real Sex" which looks like fun. It was a dildo attached to a piece of machinery, almost like a bicycle chain w/ motor, which actually did thrusting, so much more lifelike than vibrating.

One of the things that irritates me is how badly many vibrators are constructed. I can't wait for the day when proper manufacturers like GE, Phillips and the like start making these things high grade materials and good electronics. Gosh, I wish Apple or BMW got into this line.

Many moons ago, a girlfriend of mine had a purple vibrator that didn't work and couldn't bear to throw out because she'd had it so long. So, for fun I fixed it. While it was open, I couldn't resist the urge to tinker.

I'm not saying all vibrators are made this way, but this one and a few others I've opened use a rubber weight that is off axis on the wee motor to make the vibration. (Imagine half a tire on a car axle.) Well, I replaced it with the lead from a fishing lure. Heavier weight means more low level "throb"; much preferable than the angry bee high frequency buzz according to her.

Then I put in a better switch, which was, in fact, the problem. My goodness, what a piece of junk the original construction was. The whole thing probably cost ten cents to make and probably sold for $20. A good $2 switch solved the problem I put it in with epoxy and then painted the screw top to cover the seam.

So that's my advice. We're not in contact now except for Christmas cards every other year. I should ask her if we ever meet again if she still has it. Electrical engineers are not dull, we're methodical!
