I am not comfortable in public or quasi-public, but in private, sure! I've gone skinny dipping several times, all of them at the beach at night, only once when more than two people were there- I was much younger then. I would do it again if it were in private- there is something very relaxing and sensual about the warm water.

I have been to 'clothing optional' locations several times in my life. I kept my covering on, but found that the majority of the people who don't are not destined for Playboy or Playgirl photo shoots, but are just comfortable in their own skin (no matter what it looks like).
 
With three kids in the house, my nakedness is confined to my bedroom after they've gone to sleep. It actually sprang from the heat here in Florida- even with an air conditioner going, it gets sticky at night, so off go the clothing. It took awhile for my husband to realize it wasn't an invitation, but a comfort thing...but I wasn't complaining either way! LOL

Perhaps it is about being comfortable within your own skin? I can tell you that I'm more likely to be naked now than I was at 20-despite having had three children and a rather nasty appendix episode that left an unappealing, large scar. I was so self-conscious then, but now..well, I consider them battle scars that have led me to a life full of love and happiness, so why should I be ashamed of them?

I'd have to vote in favor of nudity, but with limited viewership for myself, but without restriction on the ability of others to be nude when/where they wish- except for, say, the grocery store or the
dentist. That would just be weird.

My wife and I are now in our early sixties and have been dedicated naturalists for the last five summers. It might have been a mid-life crisis but we like to think we were re-inventing ourselves when deciding to go 'au naturale' for the first time, spending two weeks at a Greek nudist colony in 2001. We were also slim and reasonably attractive so going naked did not produce any sniggers amongst our friends and other nudists, indeed they rather admired the excellent condition we were in given our age. 

Yes, there are more large people in nudist colonies than slim, shapely ones and we soon found that on all the nudist camps we have stayed at the slim ones tend to form and stick with their own little group, so evening bar-b-ques and parties tend only to be populated by the 'beautiful people'. Jewellery is important of course, a naked body needs some adornment so chains for neck, waist and ankle are 'di rigeur' at colonies. 

In addition to chains, another interesting element is the degree to which naturalists will adorn their bodies with tattoos, with some pretty horrendous examples around while other couples use common sense and apply tattoos intelligently. 

My wife is now fully shaven so a few years ago had a Welsh Dragon design (we are from Wales) done just above her vagina while I had the Hard Rock restaurant logo done just above my penis, a joke that only seems to work when I have an erection!

I totally agree with all of you on how great it feels to be naked. My biggest fantasy is to be totally nude all the time, and have all the hair permanently removed from my neck down. (And to have all the grown kids out of the house) 

I love being nude inside and outside.  I had an above ground pool at my other house with a big 8 ft wooden fence around the backyard.  I used to lock the gate to sunbathe & swim nude.  Oh I totally enjoyed it.

For most of my life, I have enjoyed being naked. For me there is nothing more rewarding and relaxing. At night, usually around 3 am I have to get up and go to the bathroom. If it's nice and dark outside, I will take off my underwear and walk around my back yard naked. Some times I will turn my motion detectors spot light on and then walk around the back yard naked until the spots light go on. I will do  this because I think at 3 in the morning, all my neighbors are sleeping.

Also we store our boat in a remote location, and after a day of boating, I will take the boat back to the storage barn and walk around the area naked during the day light. I love being naked. I'm not the kind of person who would walk around naked when I know people are naked, so am I strange or just normal?

Naked in "public" is ultimately natural and conducive to meeting men and women on the most basic, animal level.  I prefer beaches or mountainous areas.  On a recent trip to a Gulf coast beach, I enjoyed an incredible two mile stroll down a pristine white sand beach that was only sparsely dotted with other fellow naturists, all minding their own business.
