Interesting discussion. There's little doubt controlling orgasms is very different for men then it is for women. And, it's a whole different ballgame when controlling yourself via masturbation, then it is when someone else is doing the stimulation.

As a guy, I can easily control my orgasm when I'm masturbating - though honestly I can't think of a single reason why I want to do that. I mean, isn't orgasm the reason for masturbating?

But, it is really really hard for me to control my orgasm when someone else is doing the stimulating. Unless they quickly change the action somewhat when I tell them I'm close I'm going to blow, come hell or high water. 

Orgasm on command? No, it simply isn't going to happen unless of course I'm right there on the edge anyway.

I suspect the coming on demand situation is similar for women; if they're on the edge it's going to happen anyway. If not, they're may very well lose it - and ain't that a pity! 

So I say it's fiction based very very loosely on fact; for example her partner is astute and knows her body language well - so that the command is given just as the event is about to explode anyway.

I think what this orgasm on command stuff is terrific for fiction, and we should believe none of what we hear and half of what we read. Or maybe in this case, none of what we read and half of what we hear.

I find that if I stop before I come, when I do come it isn't as strong. I also find that if I try to do something different or my mind gets distracted at the moment I'm about to come (like, if I'm rubbing my clit, but I really like the idea of being fucked, so I put my fingers inside my vagina), the orgasm isn't as strong. It's like I've used up some of the energy.

I have to be careful about delaying orgasms. If I don't do it just right, the damn thing slips away and I can't capture it again for at least a few hours. Nothing like working yourself up to a big one, only to have it fizzle and die in the last few minutes. My favorite means of slowly building up to an orgasm involve fantasy, reading erotica, and teasing myself by rubbing up against my naked husband. Coming on command is not an easy task, but can be accomplished, the key is that when one is about to orgasm, they tell their Dom and he will usually change the stimulation if he does not want her to come yet, or he will give permission as she does. I know of only one woman who can actually refrain with constant arousal not changing and she's been a slave and trained for many years.

As for coming on command, just being told to come with no stimulation first, many women can. Anyone who does Kegel exercises can eventually train themselves to orgasm on command without stimulation.

I've been told that some of the male pornstars could ejaculate on command and continue activity until they really climaxed. I think Ron Jeremy was one mentioned.

I think anything is possible sexually. I have played with bd/sm and it does make things more interesting. I can usually come at the drop of a hat so to be told I wasn't allowed certainly wasn't a easy task. But the punishment made me try real hard. 

I can only stop my orgasm if my partner stops. After doing this a few times when I am allowed to come I'm sure the neighborhood knows about it. My partner and I both do this with one another. There is, of course, a point of no return.

Come On Command - now isn't that a fantasy? Absolutely not, or I'd be one perpetual, walking orgasm! The fact of the matter is, that I've always been rather "difficult" as I've called it. Orgasms have always been extremely elusive, and I've had numerous disappointed partners because they couldn't get me there. I definitely have to remain "on task" - be it with my boyfriend or solo, and if I get distracted whatsoever, it's gone.
