How Do You See Yourself?

Here's a question for anyone who may be interested and for whom the shoe fits: If your body size has changed significantly during adulthood, does that affect the way you feel about yourself? My wife reached her 55 birthday a few months back and I said to myself that I was a very lucky guy. Not only does she have a great personality and is very active she is also very attractive, slim figure, great legs and ankles and lovely little boobs which were augmented when she had her 50 birthday (a big five-o gift from me).

My sis and I are similar in that we are both in our forties, married, slim, kept our figures despite children, but whereas I'm a lady with currently two sacks of potatoes for breasts, sis has had a boob job done in the summer. Some people described me as a big kid in my youth. That was until I reached my teenage years and outgrew the "baby fat". However, in my early twenties I began to gain weight; I suspect mostly from the medication I had been taking at the time as well as the PCOS I had developed.

At about 5'6' my weight is 170 lbs. I don't "look" my weight but it definitely adds to my insecurity. I've never had a partner or a relationship and body image is something that's always concerned me. What if I won't find a partner who'll accept me as I am? I suppose I first need to accept myself.

I topped out at 5'11", with a barrel chest, a naturally broad back, shoulders that literally fill a doorway, well shaped arms with forearms that are deceivingly slender and a narrow waist and hips with long, well shaped legs from years of fencing and bicycling.

Despite the genetic gifts my Hispanic/Mestizo line has endowed me with, I'd always had a bit of an image problem until the end of my last relationship, when I realised that I'd packed on about 40 lbs and that was a major source of my discomfiture.

So, off to the gym, cut back on the Beery Goodness and a little discipline and off came 20 almost instantly- I could see my belt buckle again when I looked down, and I can once again see definition in my back. I've been slacking off due to some minor turmoil, but the gym is not that far off and I'm shooting for another 20.

How do I see myself now? As I should- a work in progress and not bad to look at, robed or dis.

I guess I'm lucky in that I am married to a man who finds me more attractive as I gained weight. After struggling through High School and college to stay a size 4, I had what I thought was the good fortune of being able to eat whatever I wanted. Of course, the pounds quickly piled on and I found that the bigger I got the hungrier I seemed to get. But I sure was happy, what a perfect situation! Apart from the comments about "letting myself go" from friends and family, the extra weight didn't bother me n the least.

However, after 8 years of this I have gained over 100 pounds and am feeling very fat and blob-like. I would like to slim down but I get so hungry and have no motivation to stick to a diet.

I've been "chunky" my entire life. It made me really insecure in jr. high, but by the time I got to high school I"d gotten boobs, so I was ok with it. I decided I was happy with my chunky but voluptous body.I wasn't skinny at all. I wore a size 13 in high school, but I was really outgoing and funny, so I had just as many dates as all the skinny girls.

After high school though I suddenly gained alot of weight, about 50 lbs, so that I now weigh almost 200 lbs. I've had a really hard time coming to grips with that. I'm married to a guy whose 6 inches taller than me and we weigh the same amount. I hate having sex with the lights on now. I'm always afraid my husband is looking at the parts of my body I don't like my thighs or my stomach. He gets mad because he says i think he's shallow. It's something we struggle with all the time now, and I'm not sure how I can deal with it best.

I'm 19 years old and only 4'11 (my parents were small). I weigh 80 lbs, people say I'm like a toothpick. I personally think the thinner the better, so I really want to go down to like 78 lbs or something. Besides, I'm not that skinny.80 lbs for this height is still fat, to me.

I was never thin. I always wore around a size 12-14. But after I had my son, I developed a few health issues that have caused me to gain around 100 pounds. I am now a size 24 and deal with weight issues every day. My husband would like to introduce another partner into our sex life but I worry that he won't find any one to join in with us because of my weight. I love myself and my husband loves me! Those are really the only things that matter!
