Bev Walton-Porter

Bev Walton-Porter is a Colorado-based professional writer who has had hundreds of columns, articles and reviews featured in numerous publications, both online and offline, since she began freelancing full-time in May 1997.

She has been a contract editor for NBC Internet, senior editor for CyberTips.com, review editor for Eye on the Web and managing editor/contributing editor at Suite 101 - Freelance. She has also reviewed software and books for CompuNotes, Inscriptions and The Charlotte Austin Review, Ltd.

Bev was the Colorado state rep for ByLine magazine from 2000 - 2002 and she was elected and served as a delegate and Grievance Officer for the National Writers Union.

Her article on online promotion appears in the January 2001 book release, The Online Guide To Writer's Markets, edited by former Inkspot editor Debbie Ridpath Ohi. She was also a featured interviewee in Bobbie Linkemer's 2002 book, Going Solo How to Survive and Thrive as a Freelancer. She is co-author of The Complete Writer, due out the end of April 2005. Her next book, Sun Signs for Writers, will be released by F & W Publications in August 2006. She is a client of the Meredith Bernstein Literary Agency in New York City.

She writes fiction and erotica under the nom de plume of Alexandra Chase. Alexandra is her sexy, decadent, wild and witchy side; she loves Godiva chocolates, mulled wine, slinky fabrics, candlelight, ambient music, full moons and drumming circles. By heritage, she is a mixture of Scottish, Welsh, Spanish, German and Navajo.

When she is not writing, she is furthering her education in Applied Communications and Philosophy at the University of Colorado. Her favorite fiction author of all time is the inimitable Stephen King.
