The Wicked Sex
Well, maybe not all dominant women. I’ve worked under a couple of grade-A bitches that I’ve disliked with a capital H. My first employer from leaving school was a buxom lady who didn’t like the description “buxom” and didn’t merit the description “lady.” She spent a couple of years trying to “cure” one of my homosexual co-workers. He’s still in therapy. She has subsequently become morbidly buxom. And she is probably responsible for instilling me with a fear of power-obsessed women. I didn’t particularly care for the domineering accounts’ manager at one of my more recent jobs. It wasn’t just her halitosis, or the fact that she had a face like a bulldog’s ball sac. The woman had immeasurable power over the purse strings on every employee’s and supplier’s finances. And she wielded that power like a despot dictator who lives 365 days of the year at the wrong time of the month. But, as a general rule, when they’re being fair with their domination, and not just going off on some arbitrary whim to flex their authoritarian muscles, I love dominant women. Which is one of the reasons I enjoy Lance Porter’s fiction. Lance Porter is the author of Enthralled, and writes about powerful women and submissive men with the enthusiasm and appreciation of a genuine aficionado. The Wicked Sex is a collection of six short(ish) stories that deal with dominant women and the men who adore them. In "Bound by a Woman," Lance introduces us to Gunther, a middle-aged German man who has just bought a mail-order bride from the South Seas. Excited by the prospect of spending many happy hours playing with his new purchase, Gunther is shocked to discover that his mail-order bride comes with her own mind. There is humour packed into this story, as well as the eroticism of domination and the thrill of submission. There is also a sound dose of morality in the way this story usurps the horrific exploitation that is intrinsic to the mail-order bride industry. In "Bound by a Woman" Lance Porter turns the tables on those exploitative patriarchs who fund this abhorrent trade in human flesh and shows how easy it is for a strong woman to take control. Cleverly, Lance Porter approaches female domination from a variety of voices and styles. In "Teen Tease" we meet the delightfully obnoxious Shelly. Shelly seems to have everything that a girl could want, including the ominous interest of a lusty stepfather. However, an excess of money, clothes and a private education in a convent have only given her an appetite for more. When she is offered anything she wants in exchange for one small favour, Shelly shows that her strong religious upbringing has given her the insight to make demands of a biblical proportion. Above all else, The Wicked Sex is fun. Challenging the traditional role of dominant men with subordinate women, The Wicked Sex tells the stories of ruthless females and the men who gladly (and sometimes not so gladly) submit to them. If you like your women strong and your fiction fun and exciting, then The Wicked Sex is one of those books you won’t dare to put down.Ashley Lister
